Them

The Concept:
I would write it from the angle of THEM, the spirits. Set it in a real Mansion. Mostly unlit through out most of the film. Long staircases, tall ceilings, centuries old  paintings. Parts of the house lived in are warm yet nowhere near modern standards. But through out all times people certain people will fall prey to their call. Their mysterious calls for murder and blood. I would also stick to the European version of the story where we know Grandma was responsible for her husband’s death. Infact I would open the story at Grandfathers killing.

The characters:
Grandmother
I would use Susan Sarandin, for the grandmother. She looks great in make up. She has a certain  sense of vulnerability, slight touch of evil in her eye. She made a good witch in Witches of Eastwick.

Missy
I do not have clear vision of Missy other than she should not just be some cute little girl with  pigtails. Probably the girl from The Others.  Missy's death wasn't shocking from an innocent little  girl standpoint. Her death was ripping because it tore a family bond. King let his little baby sister die. He was helpless to help her. He should have seen that she needed him and he just waves her  goodbye.

King
Anyone at the age of 15 can play King. However, he should have a strong chemistry between his mother and sister. Mostly his sister. That is what was so horrifying about her murder. Clean cut somewhat naïve. Then we can share in his downward spiral as his relationship grows with his Grandmother. King's character should be full of good intent and only slightly manipulated with his Grandmothers twisted wicked tales. As we get closer to King we can also appreciate her wicked tales as we wait for the return of the crazies from this bitch, Much like we saw in the beginning when she murder her husband.

Mother
Kings mother should be soft and sweet. Leaving people with a gut wrenching feeling that her  mother is using her. She should be full of life when it comes to her children, reinforcing the family  bond that exists betweens King and Missy. Then as Grandmother digs her claws into her daughters blood she becomes more and more frail. King's Mom should show the struggle she has supporting her mother. There should be a sort of  distrust between her and her mother for what happened to her father.

Jack Diamond Reviews
~THEM~

Alright, I'll admit that I am a bit biased because Dave is a good friend of mine and a trully loyal Diamondbanger and member in good standing of the U.S.Coven but that aside I think that Dave's version of THEM stays true to the vision that the King had for this epic tale. The story drags you kicking and screaming into the mysterious and haunting world of THEM. We get a great insight into the personality and relationships between this most dysfunctional of families it makes you feel as if your there watching it all unfold like an eager little fly on the wall waiting for the next exciting installment.
If you think this is all you are oh so wrong! For this is just the beginning or should I say the beginning of the End because once the main story is done we will begin THEM 3!!!
